OMG! I did not realize how difficult, boring and cold it was to not have power... After being without electricity since around 9 am on Friday 1/4/08, I thought I would go crazy if I didn't get it back by today (tuesday) sometime. And I got back to my room yesterday (monday) a little before midnight from play rehearsal, and there was still no electricity.

I figured it was another night of bundling up in layers and hunkering down in my many blankets. So to procrastinate from having to deal with that, I went to the computer lab (where there has been electricity since Sunday, along with almost all the rest of my apartment complex), to waste as much time as I could.

And to my joy and surprise, I walked out of the computer lab just around 3:45 am and saw that the outside lights of the buildings near mine were on! ON! YES! And when I got back, my room was warm, and I FLICKED ON THE LIGHT AND IT WORKED!

Seriously, I can live without electricity. I used to do it for months of more during the summers when I went to my cabin near Yosemite. Up there we had propane for lighting, and things run on batteries. Here, there was NOTHING, because my batteries died on Saturday night and by the time I realized I needed new ones and went to the store, all of the ones I went to (five or six) were COMPLETELY SOLD OUT of D batteries and flashlights that run on anything else. Except, finally, Walmart, which only had AA powered tiny batteries.

And I lost all my food, but at least I have electricity now! Yay!


Sorry, long ranting/blogging/whatever. But yea... I can take a warm shower in the light now too! XD
